Prom: A Luminous Night Under the Stars
We invite you to join us in creating A Luminous Night Under the Stars, In Honor of Maya Grace Collins — a unique Prom experience dedicated to critically ill children facing a range of serious illnesses, many of whom may never have the opportunity, or have missed the chance to attend their own school Prom. This heartfelt event is hosted by The Live Like Maya Foundation and will be held on November 9, 2025, at the Matthew 25 Ministries Event Center in Blue Ash, Ohio.
This Prom is not just an event; it's a night where children can leave their daily battles behind and experience the joy of dressing up, dancing, and feeling celebrated. The evening has been thoughtfully designed with two sessions to welcome children of all ages:
What the Prom Will Entail:
Two Sessions for Different Age Groups:
- Early Prom (ages 2-12) (3-5 PM): Tailored for younger children, this session will feature a DJ, dance floor, mocktails, and visits from beloved superheroes, princesses, and local heroes like police officers and firefighters. Volunteers will provide hair and makeup services, and with donated attire, each child will feel like a Prom King or Queen. Light bites and snacks will also be available to make the night special.
- Evening Prom (ages 13-21) (7-10 PM): A sophisticated celebration for teens and young adults, complete with a more elegant atmosphere, a VIP area for sponsors, and a parent respite space. The event will take place in a beautifully decorated venue, with a chapel area for photos, allowing families to capture lasting memories of this milestone.
Special Highlights:
- "Buddy" Volunteers: Buddies will be available—a volunteer who will accompany and assist them throughout the evening, ensuring they feel supported, comfortable, and celebrated.
- Crowns and Tiaras for Every Child: In the early session, each child will be crowned a Prom King or Queen, creating a memory they'll cherish forever.
- Attire for All Guests: For families facing financial hardship due to medical expenses, we will work with nonprofits who provide attire and accessories so that every child can feel beautiful and celebrated without worry.
- Memorial Table: To honor those who are no longer with us, we'll have a special memorial table adorned with photos and keepsakes, offering a space for families to remember and reflect.
- Volunteer Hair and Makeup Services: Professional stylists will be on hand for both sessions, helping each child feel their best and ensuring a complete, magical experience.
- DJ, Dance Floor, and Entertainment: Live music, dancing, and entertainment will set the tone for a joyous celebration, allowing the kids to feel free, happy, and celebrated.
- Photo booths, Rosie, Red Legs, Miss Ohio, Miss Ohio Teen, therapy dogs, superheros and princesses and more!
